Music as an emotional overdose: Michele Nox is an expert in mercurial romance and vertiginous pop tragedy. Her debut album “Monolith” locates her as a distant relative-by-choice of Marc Almond or Xiu Xiu. The Canadian seems to be under affective overpressure and lost in desire. She sees her enticing-irritating music as a means to transform the sexual self, which takes the stage in high heels and a bald head. “You’re no good, no good for me, I let you fuck me so good, so good baby,” says Nox in the piece “Mono”. Nothing for types with weak nerves and strong gender.
