Much hyped by British pop gazette NME for their “synth noir”, Factory Floor may hail from London’s hipster area Hackney, however they definitely sound like the kind of groundbreaking music that was in the 1980s predominantly played in Manchester or Sheffield. Cabaret Voltaire, A Certain Ratio, Joy Division and 23 Skidoo are all dripping from their sound. There’s a reason why Throbbing Gristle manager Paul Smith has taken a shine to them. With their incredible blend of heavy industrial sounds and dancey beats, they reportedly have the gift to transform any gig into a proper Hacienda within only a matter of seconds.
