DER 1. BABYSOLDAT DER DIKTATUR DER KUNST, ZUSTANDMEESE, STEHT IMMER STRAMM (STRAMMMMEESEL STRULLERT: DEMORKATISIERT MI NIT ON)
The
interdisciplinary performance programme at Kunsthalle Krems invites
visitors to a contemplation on current identity constructions, demasking
the economic and political actions of the individual in the collective.
We take a look behind the scenes of our globalised present and identify
the selection processes of the modern world. If the laws of the economy
determine the cartography of our world order, then the liberation of
the economic processes generates the disintegration of our established
value systems, resulting in immanent cultural uprooting. There’s no
space anymore in the boat to Lampedusa!
German performance artist
Jonathan Meese fuses the inevitable dialectics of history, economy and
society into his provocative installations, lectures and manifestos.
With his sociographic eye for the failings of cultures, he contrasts the
idea of a societal ideal landscape with a utopian conception of a
“dictatorship of the arts”. As part of a powerfully eloquent lecture,
Meese will be directing his call for the total mobilisation of the arts
also at the audience at the donaufestival, as the following teaser
illustrates:
ART IS NOT ESOTERICS AND ART IS NOT HUMAN ANARCHY: ART
IS THE ONLY FORM OF DOMINION OF THE FUTURE, great, great, great ... so
THE ARTS MUST ASSUME POWER
