Kap Bambino
Youtube is normally not the place to find illuminating comments on music – rather myriads of moronic three-letter combinations garnished with uncomfortably aggressive punctuation. However, it definitely seems like the eccentric man-woman duo from Bordeaux, Kap Bambino, have the better Youtube fans, seeing that they leave funny and apt remarks, such as “brutal beats”, “balls to the wall rave tunes”, “La Roux on crack cocaine”, or exhilarating stories like: “You know what’s great? Listening to Kap Bambino and then having your dad come in and yell ‘DID YOU BREAK THE COMPUTER AGAIN?’”
In an agitprop-cyberpunk kind of way, Kap Bambino are indeed “broken” and creatively destructive with their smash-your-face-in attitude fuelled by trashy electronic beats, Caroline Martial’s wholly unladylike, high-pitched screaming and the continuous scratching of speed and hearloss limits. Live on stage this audio experience gets even better, when Caroline jumps around scantily dressed while Orion Bouvier hammers at his laptop.
