Owen Pallett

Owen Pallett is a Jack of all trades. The wunderkind, also known as the “Paganini of pop”, has worked as string arranger for Arcade Fire and the Pet Shop Boys and, with his one-man-project Final Fantasy, accumulated a considerable bunch of queer pop merits. With his secret weapon, a loop station, and pontillist precision, he piles up layer upon layer of violins, additionally creating little pieces of sound art with analogue synths and tender vocals. In Krems, Pallett will have to make do without the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, whose services he employed for his latest album, but fortunately the all-rounder always knows to find a way – an illustrious local string quartet will be supporting him on stage; on first violin: Antonia-Alexa Georgiew, who every week plucks the strings as violinist for Russkaja on Stermann&Grissemann’s “Willkommen Österreich”. Furthermore on stage: Georg Wimmer, second violin, Matthias Bartolomey, cello, and Mahmoud Hussein, viola.
