THEORY & TALK
In her recently published book Rude Citizenship: Jamaican Popular Music, Copyright and the Reverberations of Colonial Power, Larisa Kingston Mann, also known as DJ Ripley, explores music production practices such as dub, which subvert Western notions of original and copy in favour of versioning. Hans Nieswandt is a long-time observer and contributor to the electronic music scene as a DJ, journalist, musician (Whirlpool Productions), and author (plus minus acht). He currently lives and works in the capital of K-Pop, Seoul.
