In the Philippines numerous deaths occur annually as a result of disputes following inappropriate karaoke singing of “I did it my way”. For some, the song is considered the anthem of the self-made man; for others, it represents the celebration of criminal recklessness. Peter Moosgaard’s work is a tactical replica of a wooden videoke box on every street corner – including the karaoke technology system built into it – which transfers the principle of karaoke to sculptural and cultural versioning.
