SOUND
His music breathes, grinds, pants, kisses, shivers, and craves; it is alive yet follows the groove of machines: The Norwegian, Berlin-based saxophonist Bendik Giske uses his instrument to retrace the sounds, smells, and vibrations of queer club culture. He mikes his complete body to merge with the saxophone, which he prefers to play with the circular breathing technique. The exertion of breathing, the tension of his body and muscles can be sensed in every moment of Giske’s performance—an experience of immense
physicality and intensity.
