SOUND

This music is truly boundless, transgressive even; it is the sound of ceaseless growth, of transformation and adaptation. Kìzis, a trans artist from Canada, has recorded one of the most ambitious and exciting albums of the year: Tidibàbide / Turn, with its 36 songs and at over three and a half hours long, the album takes the listener through the entire pop universe. It includes enchantingly glossy love songs and intoxicating raves; Kìzis combines electronic rhythms with the traditional drumming of the Algonquin people, a tribe to which her father belongs. She creates epic psychedelic dramas using piano, strings, woodwind, and brass instruments, backed by an almost unimaginable number of support musicians. At donaufestival she will perform her music with a string quartet from Austria.
