DJ and producer Rosa Nebel’s beats are beautifully dirty, grimy, and greasy. His equipment sounds so overloaded, overstimulated, and overburdened, you fear the diodes are about to burn out. Nebel’s music combines dark industrial techno with harsh noise and punk. With songs called “Der Geistertanz endete in tödlichem Schweigen” (“The Ghost Dance Ended in Deadly Silence”), he chooses to release his music digitally and on cassette tape – as is his latest release, Phantom Gold, a collaboration with the musician Herrgottsblick to be presented at donaufestival. Rosa Nebel describes it as a “mashed up, part improvised live set of ambient, techno, synth wave, and more”.
