Johanna Bruckner

Inspired by molecular biology, quantum physics, and studies on hybrid life forms, Bruckner is interested in social relations that go beyond the human category. Body Obfuscations consists of latex elements with cables running through them. The use of organic material produced in the laboratory points to the body-modifying potential of technologies. The installation is accompanied by the video work Atmospheric Drafts of Intimacy (2020), which speculates about new life forms based on molecules that have escaped into space.
