Filigree, fragile pieces between folk, battered post-rock, and fuzzy slowcore steeped in the small, crude, and curious: here, two slightly offset guitar lines intertwine; there, voices drift in from another room, till ephemeral, radiantly warm melodies come to light. Indeed, the title of the octet’s current album opener perfectly encapsulates the emotional topography of their compelling vision of contemporary ensemble music: “Total Euphoria.”
