pmxper
Pmxper is a collaborative project by Berlin-based artists Pavel Milyakov (Buttechno) and Aleksandra Zakharenko (Perila) that inhabits the liminal space between experimental electronic music, spoken word poetry, and organic instrumentation.about
Born from remote sessions spanning 2020 to 2022, their atmospheric sound weaves together spoken word, country folk, jazz, and kosmische music—a contemporary echo of Young Marble Giants' minimalist aesthetic, reimagined for uncertain times.
The duo crafts their distinctive sound through lilting guitar lines, curled jazz phrasing, and brushed drums that form an intimate canvas for Perila's evocative spoken word and poetry. Electronic textures and the warm pulse of a Rhythm Ace drum machine add depth to their sublimely smoky compositions. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2023 via Smalltown Supersound's prestigious Le Jazz Non series, marking a significant addition to the label's catalog of boundary-pushing jazz-adjacent works.
The project represents a rare convergence of complementary visions: Milyakov's genre-spanning electronic explorations meeting Zakharenko's expansive ambient practice, resulting in music that feels both deeply intimate and mysteriously atmospheric—work that exists outside conventional categorization.
Programmtext
pmxper is a collaboration between Pavel Milyakov, aka Buttechno, and Aleksandra Zakharenko, alias Perila, two artists one usually associates with electronic settings. Realized almost exclusively in the analogue world, their songs are centred on sparse instrumentation featuring guitar, saxophone, and drum brushes. The interplay between minimalist dream pop, jazz, and folk textures is enveloped by the stunning presence of Perila’s ethereal vocals.
