Rainy Miller is the solo project of Preston-born, Manchester-based artist, producer and label head Jack Bowes. Focused on putting the spotlight onto the vibrant emerging scene of the North West of England, Rainy founded his label FIXED ABODE in 2020 as a platform to showcase the wealth of local talent, whilst producing for and collaborating with local highly-tipped artists Blackhaine, Iceboy Violet, Hyperdawn amongst others.

Following up his debut project ‘Desquamation’ (2022), Rainy released the critically acclaimed full-length via his own Fixed Abode imprint - ‘A Grisaille Wedding’ (2023) - featuring collaborations from the likes of Mica Levi, Coby Sey, Voice Actor, amongst others.

As one of the leading voices of Northern Gothic – an experimental electronic scene in the deindustrialised north-west of England, aya also counts amongst its members – Rainy Miller’s rap unfolds an aesthetic of intimacy. His sonic soul-searching is highly eclectic: drifting guitars mingle with breakbeat storms and almost sacred variants of ambient. The foundation of these collages is always Miller’s haunting delivery, which strives for self-assertion in urban realities without hiding behind pathos and poses.
